You do not have to wait for a trigger. Run an agent on one record from its page with Enroll Agent, or on a whole list by selecting rows in Companies or People and choosing Agents in the Action Bar.
Open a company or person. Click its name in the grid.
In the right panel find the AGENTS card. It reads "No agents enrolled" until you add one.
Click Enroll Agent and pick the agent.
The agent starts a run on that record. Follow it on the record's timeline (filter by System to see agent entries) or on the agent's Activity tab.
This is the best way to test a new agent. Enroll it on one friendly record, read what it did, adjust the goal, and only then let it loose on a list.
In Companies or People, filter to the records you want. A saved Smartview works well here.
Tick the checkboxes on the rows you want. Selection is sticky across filters, so you can narrow, select, change the filter and keep adding.
The Action Bar appears at the bottom: "N selected" with Assign, Merge, Commands, Agents, Email, Call, SMS, Archive.
Click Agents and choose the agent.
Each selected record gets its own run. Watch progress on the agent's Activity tab.
Only agents with status Running can be enrolled or run from the Action Bar. A Draft needs Activate first; a Paused agent needs to be resumed. If the list is empty, check the Agents tab.
Trigger: automatic, for new events going forward. Use it for "every new company from now on".
Enroll or Action Bar: manual, for records that already exist. Use it for "these 80 companies I imported yesterday" or "everyone in my Went Cold Smartview".
Both can apply to the same agent. A follow-up agent can trigger on New Company and also be run by hand on an older list.
The Action Bar also has Commands, which sends a one-off instruction to the Command Center for the selected records ("set Owner to Sam", "add the tag Q4 outreach"). Use Commands for a single edit. Use Agents when you want a multi-step sequence with waits and the AI Analyzer watching for replies.
Running an agent on 500 records starts 500 runs and spends credits for each. Check the Usage this cycle bar in your profile before a large batch. If the pool runs dry mid-batch, remaining runs pause until you top up or auto-recharge adds credits; nothing is lost.
Open the agent and click Pause Agent. New runs stop; runs already mid-step finish their current step and then wait.
