Create your first agent: describe it or pick a template

Open Agents, click Create Agent, describe the outcome or pick a template, then review the goal and activate.

Open the Agents tab, click Create Agent, describe what you want in a sentence or two (or pick a template), review the goal and steps K3X proposes, then click Activate. That is the whole flow.

Step by step

  1. Go to the Agents tab and click Create Agent.

  2. On the Create Agent page you will see "What should your agent do? Describe it in your own words below, or start from a template." Either type into the bar at the bottom ("Describe the agent you want to build or select a template above...") and press Enter, or click one of the 13 templates. There is a search box to filter templates.

  3. K3X drafts the agent: a Goal, suggested Triggers, a Cadence and the Action steps. Read them. Edit the goal text, add or remove triggers, and add steps with + Add step until it matches what you meant.

  4. Give it a clear name. The name shows in the Agents list, in the AGENTS card on every record it is enrolled on, and in the Action Bar menu, so "Demo no-show follow-up" beats "Agent 3".

  5. Click Activate. Status changes from Draft to Running. Until you do this the agent is a draft and will not run.

Writing a goal that works

The goal is the most important text in the agent. Good goals share four things:

  • The outcome. "Book a demo", "qualify and route", "get a reply", not "handle leads".

  • The scope. Who it applies to: "companies created by the website form", "deals above $5,000", "only US companies".

  • The stop condition. "Stop when they reply, click, or book a meeting." The AI Analyzer uses this to pause the sequence.

  • The hard rules. "Never email existing customers", "no more than three touches", "always leave a note on the deal".

A concrete example:

When a new company is created from the website form, research it on the web, fill Industry and Employees, score fit from 1 to 5 in the "Fit Score" field, and if the score is 4 or higher create a deal in New Lead and assign it to the owner with the fewest open deals. Leave a note explaining the score.

If you want to review messages before they go out, say so in the goal: "Draft the email and leave it for me to review." Tone, length and words to avoid come from Settings → AI Behavior, so you do not need to repeat them in every goal.

Templates or your own words?

Templates are the fastest start: Company Qualification, Instant Response, Follow-Up Automation, Pipeline Movement, Call Debrief and nine more. Pick one, then edit the goal so stage names, field names and timing match your workspace. Writing your own description is better when your process does not look like any template. Both paths land on the same Agent tab, so you can mix: start from a template and rewrite half of it.

Before you activate

  • Stage names in the goal exist in your Pipelines tab, spelled the same way.

  • Custom fields the agent should fill exist in Settings → Custom Fields.

  • If the agent sends email, a mailbox is connected in Settings → Connected Apps. If it sends SMS, you have a K3X number with approved registration in Phone & Voicemail.

  • Test on one record first: open a company, click Enroll Agent, then watch the Activity tab.
