# Smartviews that keep refreshing

Save a Database search as a Smartview tab and it refreshes on its own as new matching records enter the database.

A Smartview is a saved search. In the Database it appears as a named tab, and it keeps refreshing as new matching companies and people enter the database, so your target list is never stale.

## Create a Smartview

1.  Open the **Database** tab and click the **+** tab (**Create search with AI**).
    
2.  Describe the search in the **Describe search** box. Example: "Financial Services CEOs in the Southeast with 25 to 100 employees".
    
3.  Refine with column filters or by describing a change until the list looks right.
    
4.  Save it. It becomes a tab next to your other searches, named after what you described. You can rename it.
    

## Why it refreshes

The Database is re-verified on a rolling basis, and new businesses, new hires and new funding rounds arrive all the time. A Smartview is a live filter, not a snapshot. Each time you open the tab you see every record that matches today, including ones that did not exist when you saved it.

## Smartviews in the Database vs in Companies and People

-   **Database Smartviews** filter the 200M+ built-in records. New matches appear without any action from you. Emails and phones stay masked until you reveal them.
    
-   **Companies and People Smartviews** filter your own records (for example "My open companies" or "No touch in 14 days"). They sit as tabs next to **All records**. See "Views, filters, columns and Smartviews".
    

## Working a Smartview

-   Open the tab, sort by Founded or Employees, and reveal the rows you want this week.
    
-   Already-revealed and already-owned people are deduplicated, so reopening the same Smartview later only surfaces what is new to you.
    
-   Push revealed records into Companies and People and run an agent on them.
    

## Good Smartviews to start with

-   **Territory**: every business in your state or county by industry.
    
-   **Growth**: companies crossing a headcount threshold such as 10, 25 or 50 employees.
    
-   **New businesses**: companies founded in the last 12 months in your market.
    
-   **Decision-makers**: owners or CEOs at companies that match your ideal customer.
