The Database tab is a built-in list of 200,000,000+ US companies and people that you can search, reveal and pull into your CRM. Companies and People are your own records. The Database is where new ones come from.
Two kinds of lists
Companies and People: records your workspace owns. They have owners, timelines, deals, emails, calls, notes and custom fields. Agents work on them. You add them manually, by CSV import, from Claude or ChatGPT, or from the Database.
Database: records K3X ships with. Nobody in your workspace owns them yet. Emails and phones are masked until you reveal them. There is no timeline, no owner and no deal until you push a record into Companies and People.
Think of the Database as the market, and Companies and People as your slice of it.
What you can do in the Database
Describe who you want in plain English. The + tab in the Database is Create search with AI, and it opens a Describe search box in the Command Center. Example: "roofing company owners in Georgia".
Narrow with filters: industry, headcount, location, funding and role. Adjust what you see with the Columns button.
Click Reveal on a row to get the verified email and/or direct phone. Reveals spend credits from your single credit pool, under the Data Reveal category.
Push revealed people and companies into Companies and People, then email, call or run an agent on them.
Save a search as a Smartview. It appears as a tab in the Database and keeps refreshing as new matching records enter.
What the Database does not do
It does not search your own records. Use the search box in the top bar, or filters in Companies and People, for that.
It does not charge you for browsing or filtering. Only a Reveal spends credits.
It does not charge twice for the same person. Reveals are deduplicated against the records you already own.
Where it fits in a day
A typical flow: build a search for your territory, reveal the decision-makers that match, push them into People, then run a follow-up agent or a call list from the Action Bar. Your CRM never starts empty, and you do not need a separate data tool.
Who can use it
Anyone in the workspace can open the Database tab. Reveals spend workspace credits, so owners and administrators can watch the Data Reveal line in the Credit breakdown (click your avatar, then the Usage this cycle bar).
