When someone calls or texts your K3X number, the event is logged on the matching company or person's timeline. From there, agents can react inside K3X, and an agent step can push the result to any outside tool.
What lands on the timeline
Inbound SMS: the message text, sender and time, under the SMS filter.
Inbound calls: duration, outcome and your notes, under the Calls filter. Recording and transcription follow your workspace settings.
React with an agent
Agents can trigger on timeline events, so a logged call or text can start a run without any outside tool.
Open the Agents tab and click Create Agent.
Start from a template or describe the goal. Two templates fit inbound traffic: Inbox Triage (analyzes inbound messages for intent and urgency) and Call Debrief (summarizes calls and updates deal next steps).
Describe what should happen, for example: "When an inbound text arrives, classify it. If it is a sales reply, notify the owner and draft a response. If it asks to stop, do nothing further." Or: "After every inbound call, summarize the notes, fill Demo Summary and move the deal if a demo was booked."
Activate the agent and check its Activity tab after the next call or text.
Push events to another tool
To get inbound call and SMS activity into Slack, a Google Sheet or a data warehouse, add a step to the agent that posts to your URL: "Send a webhook to <URL> with the person's name, phone, message text and classification." Deliveries appear on the agent's Deliveries tab, and the receiving side can be Make, Zapier, n8n or your own endpoint. See "Webhooks in K3X: the basics".
Raw event webhooks
If you need every inbound call or message delivered as a raw event to an external URL, independent of any agent, that is set up by the K3X team for your workspace. Email [email protected] or use the in-app chat with your destination URL and the events you need (inbound SMS, inbound calls, missed calls, voicemails). We will confirm the payload shape with you before switching it on.
Common patterns
Missed-call recovery: an agent texts back after a missed call with a link to book a time.
SMS handoff: an agent classifies inbound texts and notifies the record owner, or pushes support questions to your help desk through a webhook.
Call debrief: an agent turns each inbound call into a summary and next steps on the deal.
Audit log: an agent pushes every inbound message to a Google Sheet through Make or Zapier.
Requirements
A K3X phone number in Settings → Phone & Voicemail. For texting, approved A2P 10DLC registration or toll-free verification.
Agent runs spend AI credits from your pool. Calling and texting spend credits from the same pool.
Respect opt-outs. A STOP reply must end texting to that number.
